For several months in summer and fall of 1943, she was the only British intelligence agent operating in the Paris area, sending crucial wireless transmissions to London. In October 1943 she was captured by the Germans and held for 11 months before being executed at the Dachau concentration camp in September 1944. Despite being tortured during her imprisonment, she never revealed Allied secrets.
